Day One
Meet the Mokoro Polers
(Own camping equipment and food for 2 days)
To add to your adventure we will transfer you to the delta in our open 4x4 vehicle. At the river, we meet the Mokoro polers who will be your hosts and guides for the coming days. After introductions, you will continue on by traditional style dug-out canoe (Mokoro). Gliding along the pristine channels, there are excellent photographic opportunities to capture the beauty of the Okavango.
Your Mokoro Guide will choose a camping area and will assist you to set up camp in a shady position looking out over the reeds and the river. After settling into camp and fixing lunch you may join your host for an afternoon walk. On walks you may come across combinations game animals such as zebra, giraffe, elephant, jackals, antelope and of course fantastic bird life. On occasion we also see lion, leopard, buffalo, wild dog, bat-eared fox, hyena and other species. Return to camp in the late afternoon to cook your meal over an open fire.
Day Two
Explore the area and search for game
(Own camping equipment and food for 2 days)
Up before the sun, you set out by Mokoro or on foot, to explore the area once again in search of game. Of course these sightings cannot be predicted but the Okavango is world famous for its bio-diversity. Walks are led by local guides who are part of the community-based programme we work closely with. During the hottest part of the day you can cool off in the river, or just relax before the afternoon outing .In the evening your hosts can be encouraged to share stories around the fire of their lives and lands. Be prepared if your Botswana hosts put on a song for you they will be expect one in return! As the evening draws to a close lay back and listen to the music of life - the sounds of the African bush!
